JOB SUMMARY:

The Benefits Coordinator works directly under the supervision of the Accounting Manager. This position performs general office duties. Position will involve computer use of various programs, i.e. Excel/Microsoft Word/PrimePay. He/She will perform related responsibilities as required or assigned. This position requires familiarity with ILS Policies and Procedures both business and program related. This person needs general knowledge of services to people with developmental disabilities and knowledge of DDS Policies.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Preform general office duties.
    1. Provide backup to management assistant, as needed i.e. answer phone, handle walk-in traffic, process mail
    2. Maintains confidential information at all times
    3. Perform other office duties as assigned
    4. Attend in-service training and/or retraining requirements as scheduled
  2. Manage Employee Benefits.
    1. Track and Process employee benefits i.e. insurance, retirement, etc.
    2. Monitor employee eligibility for benefits in accordance with applicable regulations
    3. Process all insurance bills and submit to Accounts Payable
    4. Track and Maintain ACA Reporting
    5. Facilitate Open Enrollment annually with assistance of Accounting Manager
    6. Assist with 403b Retirement Plan audit annually
    7. Attend training periodically to ensure Agency complies with laws and regulations as they relate to employee benefits
  • Assist with Payroll Processing.
    1. Review, code and enter payroll
    2. Print payroll register and other reports as needed
    3. Process manual checks as needed
    4. Process Garnishments, Child Support and other deductions
    5. Process Employment Verifications for Payroll
    6. Conduct New Hire Training for Payroll

QUALIFICATIONS:

Formal Education equivalent of a minimum of Associates degree in Accounting, Business or Human Resources, or five years' experience in a position administering employee benefits through payroll processing. Prior experience in general accounting; general office skills such as data entry, typing, filing and computer; familiarity with computerized software.

This person must be able to operate a vehicle; have good driving record, communicate clearly with people through good verbal and writing skills; and be able to do occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
