**Summary**
The Director, Transportation is responsible to strategize, manage, and continually improve the transportation operations of Zevia. This scope encompasses the accurate and efficient movement of Zevias products within the US, Canada and Internationally, including inbound raw materials, internal inventory transfers within the Zevia network, and customer deliveries. Our expectation is consistency and performance excellence in the areas of safety, shipment handling, accurate and on-time delivery, as well as overall cost management. These measurable, customer affecting areas of expectation will be evaluated on a regular basis. The Director, Transportation is responsible for creating process improvement initiatives that strive to meet and/or exceed 100% of the goals listed across these areas. In addition, the person filling this role must exhibit strong management skills in leading the assigned team.
**Responsibilities**

* Lead sourcing and contracting efforts for new carriers, brokers and lanes, driving ongoing cost reduction and cost containment through best-in-class rates
* Optimize transportation network
* Manage vendor scorecards and quarterly business reviews
* Conduct regular follow-ups with team on business objectives
* Establish and manage department goals that align with all internal and external customers
* Lead an empowered team that manages all loads for the company
* Collaborate with other functions, including Customer Fulfillment, Warehousing, Supply Planning, Sales, Sourcing and Executive Management as needed to achieve objectives
* Continuously source new, beneficial relationships with carriers and/or brokers
* Manage and improve existing relationships with carriers and/or brokers
* Ensure all carriers meet legal and insurance requirements
* Ensure carriers and brokers meet Sustainability and Social Impact policies and adhere to Code of Conduct Policy
* Develop Standard Operating Procedures for the department
* Drive efficiency in the function, including maximizing the use of technology such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
* Oversee budgeting and tracking process for department,
* Monitor all financial transactions, ensuring that objectives align with allotted budgets and established rates with carriers and providers.

**Work Environment**
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work**
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the core work hours of 8am to 5pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demands.
**Travel**
This position requires minimal travel. 5-10%
**Desired Education and Experience**
* Minimum 7 years experience in logistics in a similar capacity
* BS/BA in Logistics, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics, or a relevant field is preferred
* Significant work experience as a Supply Chain Manager, Analyst, Logistics Coordinator or another similar role
* Proven experience in data analysis and reporting
* Proficient understanding of all levels of related supply chain processes (e.g. inventory planning, warehouse management)
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems (i.e. Netsuite)
* Finance / Accounting functional knowledge a plus
* Interpersonal Skills:
