Description: Experience Operations (XO) is a pivotal functional group within Genentech Business Operations (GBO), dedicated to collaborating across Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Government Affairs (CMG) to deliver integrated customer experiences that drive substantial business impact. Genentech aims to consistently provide meaningful and seamless interactions with our transformative medicines, services, and teams. The Search and Organic Social Media Manager plays a critical role in executing this vision.
The Opportunity: As the Search and Organic Social Media Manager within the Experience Operations (XO) team, you will be responsible for crafting and executing high-impact digital customer experiences through search and organic social media channels. Working closely with a team of service experts, you will orchestrate strategies that align with business goals and drive measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement robust strategies across paid search and organic social media channels to effectively engage and reach target audiences.
  • Manage a portfolio including paid search on external engines and organic social media channels, driving experimentation and insights for business growth.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for designated business areas, gathering insights, sharing learnings, and applying best practices across paid search and organic social media efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to translate marketing objectives into comprehensive paid search and organic social media goals, executing tactics that support business objectives and enhance performance metrics.
  • Direct agency partners to ensure high-quality strategy, content, and execution, while communicating clear channel strategies for successful service delivery.
  • Plan, execute, and optimize campaigns across platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Google, and Bing, leveraging advanced targeting capabilities and audience segmentation strategies.
  • Monitor and manage campaign budgets efficiently, maximizing ROI through effective resource allocation.
  • Utilize analytics and external data sources to derive insights and make data-driven recommendations, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation within XO and across the enterprise.
  • Implement A/B testing methodologies to optimize ad creative, messaging, targeting parameters, and landing pages for enhanced performance and effectiveness.
Location: This role is based in South San Francisco, with flexibility for fully remote candidates willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, with at least 5 years in digital media marketing, media agency, digital brand strategy, social media, analyst, or media planning roles.
  • Previous experience in Experience Operations as a Paid Search or Social Media Manager.
  • Proficiency in social media advertising platforms (LinkedIn Ads, Twitter, Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, Bing, GDN).
  • Familiarity with Social Media Management Systems (SMMS) such as Sprinklr, Khoros, or Sprout Social.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in digital customer experience initiatives.
  • Background in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Certification in social media marketing platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn Marketing Labs) and Google Ads.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics 4 (GA4) or equivalent analytics platforms.
