The Associate Product Owner is responsible for setting, prioritizing, and accepting the work generated by the team to ensure the most valued and proper platform functionality. As Associate Product Owner, you will gather product feature requests, create stories, schedule product releases and work with the Development Team to coordinate sprints. Working with the Sales and Client Success Teams you will be able to identify user needs, create stories, help the Development Team understand the business value and needs, and work across multiple teams to manage the platform development and releases.

Job Description
  • Follow Product Management Lifecycle standards to accomplish roadmap initiatives
  • Work directly with Product Management on defining Product Vision, Strategy and Roadmap.
  • Works closely with all functions of the organization (Product, Design, Engineering, Data Science, Operations, Customer Success, etc.) to identify requirements and deliver features.
  • Own (create, maintain, and prioritize) the product backlog, balancing conflicting priorities.
  • Actively participate in technical design discussions with Engineering and Data Science Teams when defining requirements.
  • Create and maintain supporting product design documentation as necessary, including diagrams, mock-ups, and implementation plans.
  • Ensure user stories are ready for development, including clear business value and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop scope and define backlog items (epic/features/user stories) that guide the Agile Development Team.
  • Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies (Refinement, Stand ups, Sprint Planning, etc.).
  • Create product release notes and provides user training for deployed product features.
  • Continually learn and deepen knowledge of our platform, product features, and user experiences
  • Ensure customer needs are in the development roadmap.
  • Work with team(s) to support the overall long-term strategic plan.

Background & Qualifications
In order to be successful, you will need the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent specific industry experience.
  • 1-3 years Product Management or equivalent work experience.
  • Able to work from Chicago office minimum 3 days per week.
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Interest in the Generative AI and/or Artificial Intelligence space.
  • Technical skills (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Google Apps Suite; sheets, docs, slides, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Figma and other product management and design tools.
  • Experience with defining minimum marketable features and minimum viable platform.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem solving nature and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask, passion for learning and professional development.
  • Driven, reliable, self-motivated & emotionally intelligent.

  • Able to work well within and across teams.
