Responsibilities for Materials ManagerEstablishes and ensures that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functionsResponsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and deliveryCollaborate with other managers and corporate Purchasing to determine supply needsDevelop and execute inventory cycle count process to assure high inventory accuracies and establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventorySupervise, evaluate and coach subordinates: Group Leader and Line LeaderKeep detailed records on procurement activity, materials quantity, specifications etc.Ensure prompt and accurate updating of the computer systemsPrepare reports on inventory, material usage and efficiencyQualifications for Materials Manager3+ years' experience in a materials management, purchasing, supply chain, or sourcing rolePrevious experience implementing an ERP system In depth knowledge of supply chain and inventory management systemsHands on experience with forecasting and budgetingAnalytical thinking with problem solving aptitudeWorking knowledge of ERP systemsExcellent organizational and leadership skillsProficient in Microsoft OfficePrevious experience in a start-up environment a plusBS/BA in logistics, materials management or similar relevant field
