Position Summary: At this level the associates is proficient in all aspects of the process. They are able to assist in the development of new processes and recognize and solve most non-routine process problems. The associate at this level has a greater awareness of the overall business and is able to make process improvements that reduce cost and /or improve quality and delivery. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Identifies common machine electrical and mechanical problems Proficient product knowledge to identify components Identifies gas supply / mixture problems Develops / modifies existing simple weld - fabrication schedules for new parts Understands and has the ability to weld - fabricate complex process sheets Demonstrates the ability to improve processes to reduce setup times and cycle times Works on his / her own and helps answer questions from less qualified associates Works with related departments on his / her own (e.g. Tool Room, Engineering, Inspection) Can read engineering drawings and specifications to layout, assemble, and weld more complex components Uses Lathes, Mills, Bridgeport, and saws under guidance of a trainer or supervisor Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Required: No Education Required Must be certified in manual welding skills in order to pass 6G pip tests as well as ASME code requirements / tests Preferred: Critical Competencies: Customer Focus Shows a desire to help others meet the needs of customers Demonstrates to others the desire to help customers win Reliability and Integrity Always demonstrates positive attitude toward job and company Can absolutely rely on what they say Proactive in achieving compliance with policies and procedures Flexibility Will take on any task within a cell or department Will support things they don't totally agree with Always open to taking on new challenges Teamwork Recognize others' success and give credit to whom it is due Maintains cooperative and trust based relationships Communication Can get messages across that have the desired effect Keeps others involved in project developments and plans Accountability Helps to build enthusiasm, excitement, and commitment to the group mission Removes barriers or roadblocks so people can get the job done Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements: Good vision: Must be able to sustain effective visual inspection over an 8-hour shift. Must be able to pass pre-employment and annual Vision Acuity tests Lifting: Maybe lifting up to 25lbs. frequently Manual dexterity: : Must demonstrate manual dexterity required to properly handle products and gages Sitting/ Standing: May be required to sit or stand 8 hours per day. Must be able to move throughout the shop floor to gather samples, move parts, etc.
