Accounting Manager

Job Summary:

In this position, you will oversee the accounting activities and financial reporting for the Spokane Club, working closely with the General Manager and Regional Controller.As an accounting liaison between the Club, client, and our management company, KemperSports, you will collaborate with department managers to ensure a smooth operation and resolve any financial issues as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage the general accounting activities of the Club, including daily revenue, accounts payable, accounts receivable (members), payroll, and cash management.
  • Prepare monthly workpaper reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and state and local taxes.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial reports, analyze against budget and historical figures, and present findings to leadership.
  • Supervise other accounting staff.
  • Work with department managers to produce and present budgets and forecasts to leadership.
  • Departments include restaurant, catering, fitness, hotel, and administration.
  • Manage cash flow on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis including cash forecasting and projections.
  • Ensure that management policies and procedures are implemented and operating effectively.
  • Guarantee a smooth annual audit.
  • Ensure optimum performance of the function. Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, and take advantage of opportunities.
  • Keep abreast of current trends and practices in field of expertise. Assume other special activities and responsibilities from time to time, as directed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance.
  • 5+ years applicable accounting experience.
  • F&B oversight experience is desirable.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency with more advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to different accounting/software systems.
  • Use with ADP payroll is helpful.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organization and attention to detail, a positive attitude, and ability to communicate effectively with staff.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Customer-service oriented to ensure positive interactions and a high level of personalized service to members and guests.
Benefits:
  • Full-time employees and, optionally for additional cost, their families are able to enroll for coverage by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan after one year.
  • Full-time employees will also accrue vacation based on hours work to a maximum of ten days per year and six paid holidays throughout the calendar year.


Salary:

$75,000 to $85,000 Annually
