Accounting Consultant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Consultant to join our client's team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of their financial records. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations and financial reporting. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the annual audit process and work on complex accounting projects such as consolidation and elimination accounting and lease accounting.

This Accounting Consultant position is a remote opportunity, but you must reside in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia or West. The position is temporary for 10-18 months and will pay up to $42 per hour.

Accounting Consultant Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts
  • Perform journal entries and ensure proper classification of all transactions
  • Assist with the annual audit process
  • Manage consolidation and elimination accounting for subsidiaries
  • Apply lease accounting standards (ASC 842)
  • Maintain proficiency in Lawson/Infor accounting software
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant accounting standards and regulations

Accounting Consultant Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting
  • Preferred experience in healthcare and/or not-for-profit accounting
  • Strong understanding of consolidation and elimination accounting principles
  • Experience with annual audits
  • Working knowledge of lease accounting standards (ASC 842)
  • Proven proficiency in Lawson/Infor accounting software
