Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and update documentation for designs, including mechanical layout, part and assembly drawings, analysis, evaluation, prototype build and testing throughout all phases of the project.
- Directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
- Determine purpose, application, and feasibility of new or enhancement of existing products or processes.
- Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
- Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.
- Establishes priorities for work delegated to others.
- Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
- Provide directions to junior engineers and designers.
- Coordinate engineering efforts with procurement, manufacturing, product management, systems engineering and provide engineering assistance to internal teams or external customers.
- Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures.
Education and Experience Requirement:
- Engineer with 5+ years of career experience in a manufacturing setting
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or applicable engineering discipline is required
- Possess a strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles and related systems.
- Ability to apply design theory and methodology, and assist in determining and developing requirements from specifications, oral instructions or preliminary sketches.
- Ability to perform mechanical design using Inventor or similar MCAD tools.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
