Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our team at Midwest Manufacturing. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for providing structural calculations and code compliance for building plans, creating structural designs for various materials, and communicating with owners, contractors, and building officials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement structural calculations and designs for commercial buildings, ensuring compliance with local and state building codes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide design documents and technical support for building projects.
  • Review and approve structural plans prior to submission to regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct cost estimates for materials and labor, and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
  • Assist in research and development of new products and technologies used in the building industry.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering - Structural Emphasis or related field.
  • Proficiency in building codes and regulations, as well as computer software such as Excel, Word, and Visual Basic.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • P.E. License or F.E. Exam preferred.
