JK Executive Strategies has partnered with a local manufacturer in its search for a Quality Engineer / Manager. Our client is an industry leader specializing in rolling stock sub-systems and offers a variety of technological solutions for the railway industry with a worldwide presence. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Quality Engineer / Manager develops, implements, and periodically evaluates a program to ensure the organizations production operations, from raw materials to finished products, meet the quality, integrity, and efficiency standards set by the organization. Oversees evaluations, tracking, trending, and monitoring of quality activities. Requires an individual who works independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates production operations from a strategic level to ensure that products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and other specifications and requirements.
  • Responsible for supplier quality metrics, supplier process capability audits, and being able to perform offsite inspection of materials at supplier locations.
  • Responsible for monthly and quarterly supplier performance metrics.
  • Review incoming raw material certifications.
  • Inventory management of non-conforming materials.
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics for key organizational processes and create measurement displays and diagrams.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and conduct assessments of various program entities for compliance with contract requirements and provide documented feedback to those assessed.
  • Assist in the development of compliance processes, quality procedures, and quality control methodologies.
  • Prepare quality documentation, detailed reports, and presentation materials.
  • Perform source inspections including process, final, first article inspections, and first article approval.
  • Work with customers resolving corrective action (CAPA)
  • Develop and review documents to ensure consistency and compliance with contracts, agreements, and management policies.
  • Identify deviations and non-conformances from established standards and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in implementing solutions using methodologies such as process mapping, brainstorming, and data analysis.
  • APQP activities with the process flow PFMEA.
  • Responsible for calibration matrix.
  • Create, populate, and maintain databases for tracking data, requirements, and activities.
  • Manages all internal and external audits, including ISO 9001.
  • Maintain ISO quality system and drive initiatives for ISO compliance.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in a quality engineer or leadership role.
  • Bachelors degree preferred, in either Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering or another relevant field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and database management skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and Catia files.
  • Understanding of SAP functionalities
  • Solid understanding and experience in problem-solving and process improvements through Six Sigma, Lean, and ISO frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving, workload management, and organizational skills with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work well within a highly energized work environment with changing priorities and tasks.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a challenging environment.
  • Must have strong communication skills, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Experience participating in and leading process improvement projects.
  • Dedicated to completing projects in a timely manner.

Salary Range: $75K - $85K
