As a Purchasing Coordinator (Food & Beverage) at dnata Catering, your primary responsibility will be to prepare and expedite purchase orders and monitor approvals until receipt of services or items ordered. Additionally, you will review and replenish inventory of various items, schedule deliveries, and ensure correct materials are requisitioned to the kitchen. Your role will also involve maintaining accurate files, providing advice on scheduling and inventory planning, and performing specialized administrative support functions.

dnata is one of the worlds largest air services providers. Established in 1959, the company ensures the aviation industry operates smoothly and efficiently in 127 airports. Offering ground handling, cargo, travel, and flight catering services in 35 countries across six continents, dnata is a trusted partner for over 300 airline customers around the world. Each day, the company handles over 1,900 flights, moves over 8,500 tons of cargo, books over 16,000 hotel stays, and uplifts over 320,000 meals.

You Will:
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting the purchase of key ingredients.
  • Prepare, monitor approvals, submit, and expedite purchase orders.
  • Implement necessary systems and procedures to ensure effective product cost control.
  • Review and replenish inventory of uniforms, PPE, pantry items, and operational supplies.
  • Schedule deliveries for stock items.
  • Monitor and control cost to insure the budgeted food costs are met.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on delivery of key products.
  • Ensure receiving transactions are recorded in soft systems promptly.
  • Research, track, and resolve accounting problems.
  • Support the 3-way matching process in coordination with stakeholders and Accounts Payable.
  • Continuously monitor the status of main vendor accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and easily accessible files.
  • Provide advice on scheduling, inventory planning and control, based on data analysis.
  • Perform specialized administrative support functions.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national regulatory requirements and dnata policies.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

This salary range and is influenced by the level of experience. When calculating the base pay, we take into account various factors such as location, qualifications, training, and experience as part of the overall compensation package.

You Have:

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree or 3 years of related purchasing & sourcing experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Experience with inventory management.
  • Preferred customer service experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with purchasing parts and ordering.
  • Preferred experience in food and beverage (food manufacturing or inflight catering)

Intellectual/Social demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires constant attendance and punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time. Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. Work environment:
