Client Service RepresentativeDepartment: ReceptionistsEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: Charlottesville, VirginiaCompensation: $17.00 - $20.00 / hourDescriptionJoin our team as the welcoming face of our practice As a CSR, you'll be providing top-tier service to our clients and their pets. Responsibilities include greeting clients, managing patient records, answering inquiries, processing payments, and ensuring clear, compassionate communication.The role of the Customer Service Representative (CSR) is to provide the highest level of customer service and care. This is done by answering phones, answering client questions, pulling patient charts, checking clients in and out, and accepting payments. A CSR will always maintain a professional appearance and behave in a professional manner, speak clearly and slowly for clients to understand, and relay reliable information to clients as directed by the veterinarian and/or veterinary technicians. If any problems arise, the receptionist should report them to the practice manager immediately.If you're ready to make an impact and support our team in delivering excellent care, we'd love to hear from you Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role: Can provide patience, empathy, and compassion for clients and patients. Can communicate well with team members and clients in a professional, respectful manner. Can provide exceptional service to every client by identifying their needs and wants. Can answer phones efficiently with a positive tone of voice. Effective verbal and listening communications skills Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Able to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism. Effective organizational skills Effective written communications skills Analytical and problem-solving skills Computer skills including spreadsheet and word processing programs Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information. Stress and time management skills Understands the importance of a clean and orderly facility; keeps reception area (all client and employee areas, public restroom, foyer) and outside client walkways clean, organized, and litter-free. Maintain positive, cooperative relationships with other employees. Can prepare client transactions, accept payment, and/or explain payment policy to clients in accordance with hospital financial policies. Can explain necessary follow-up and homecare instructions. Can effectively utilize the practice management software in accordance with hospital standards. Familiar with veterinary medical terminology and knowledgeable about hospital procedures, policies, and services. Performs other duties as assigned.Preferred QualificationsEDUCATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTSHigh school Diploma or Equivalent Previous on-the-job training is desirable, but not required. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting preferred. PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 18 years of age. Genuinely enjoys working with people and animals. Possess initiative, follow through and a "can do" attitude. Can remain calm and efficient during a crisis. Well-spoken (able to read, write, speak, and understand English well) and approaches his/her job duties in a mature nature. Ability to convey information effectively and correctly. Physical Effort: Work requires lifting, carrying, sitting and standing for extended periods of time.
