EHS Manager

As the EHS Manager, you will manage workplace Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) programs to reduce incidents, maintain compliance and instill a culture of operational EHS excellence for PPG's Temple, Texas plant.
You will report to the United States & Canada (USCA) west region EHS Director and partner with the plant manager to drive best practices to sustain PPG's EHS mission and vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direction and guidance to site management in the development of EHS goals that drive continuous improvement.
- Engage (communicating, influencing, collaborating) with employees, supervisors and management in the workplace every day to support an operational EHS excellence culture.
- Coordinate the incident management program and support root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide technical advice on EHS regulations and PPG requirements to ensure compliance; Prepare regulatory reports and develop solutions to a variety of safety, industrial hygiene and environmental issues.
- Drive key safety initiatives including job safety analysis, site safety observations, risk mitigation, and Management of Change.
- Conduct critical EHS tasks such as identification of hazards, prioritizing risks, verifying adequacy of hazard controls & tracking compliance with laws and regulations.
- Lead various safety teams and committees; Develop agenda for monthly EHS leadership team meeting; Facilitate EHS improvement teams.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews and self-audits of environmental, health, and safety programs to assure compliance PPG standards and regulatory requirements; Recommend strategies to achieve improvements in EHS key performance indicators.
- A Bachelor's degree in Safety Sciences, Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering or related discipline.
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in manufacturing or related industry.
- Must possess a "hands on" approach to problem solving and driving cultural change.
- Prime success factors include the ability to influence, creativity, and providing unique points of view to promote a strong safety culture.
