Overview

The Continuous Improvement Principal analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatble and quantifiable business process improvements.

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data
  • Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and reduced cost
  • Determines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes
  • May specialize in one or more of the following areas: benchmarking, business process analysis and reengineering, change management and measurement, and/or process-driven systems requirements
  • Studies organizational processes and operations and develops quality and efficiency improvements
  • Evaluates internal processes and identifies opportunities for improvements
  • Gathers data for key performance indicators for functions being reviewed, evaluates current state and processes future state goals and objectives
  • Measures results of implemented improvement strategies and modifies continuous improvement programs in response
  • Assists in the development and delivery of continuous improvement related training programs
Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
  • 5-7 years experience in relevant function
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations or related field
  • Lean, Six Sigma or related certification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Problem management
  • Project management skills
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office
  • Strong written, digital and verbal communication skills in both an individual and team environment
  • Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety
  • Requires regular movement throughout the GD-OTS facility

***Scranton Army Ammunition Plant is a government contracted facility, all potential employees must be able to pass Federal background requirements***
