New Way Trucks is a leading manufacturer of refuse trucks, committed to innovation, quality, and sustainability. We are seeking a dedicated Continuous Improvement Lead to join our team and drive productivity and efficiency at our Iowa manufacturing sites.

Position Overview:
The Continuous Improvement Lead will be responsible for overseeing and executing manufacturing productivity improvement projects. This role requires a seasoned industrial engineer with a lean mindset to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process optimization, and efficient use of business resources. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, skilled in lean manufacturing principles, and passionate about continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Improvement Projects: Oversee and manage continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing processes, reducing waste, and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Implement and promote lean manufacturing principles across the production floor to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Utilize data to drive decision-making and process enhancements.
  • Cost Reduction: Develop and implement strategies to reduce manufacturing costs without compromising quality or safety.
  • Training and Development: Train and mentor employees on lean principles, continuous improvement techniques, and best practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, quality, and supply chain, to ensure alignment and successful implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the progress and impact of improvement projects.
  • Problem Solving: Utilize problem-solving tools such as root cause analysis, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to address and resolve production issues.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.

Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in data analysis and statistical software.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Mindset: Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute tactically, with a continuous improvement mindset
