Spreadtrum Communications USA is a company dedicated to developing state-of-the-art chipsets for next-generation Wi-Fi technologies, encompassing access points and mobile stations. We have multiple positions available for engineers at various levels, ranging from junior to senior. These engineers will be responsible for the design and implementation of real-time 802.11 MAC systems, ensuring the delivery of high-performance Wi-Fi AP/STA chipset solutions that are optimized for low power consumptions, cost-effectiveness and low footprints.
Responsibilities

As part of a team focused on building core MAC/PHY algorithms and SW/FW/HW designs for next-generation Wi-Fi chipsets, you will be responsible for one or multiple tasks outlined below:
Analyzing and evaluating 802.11 WLAN/Wi-Fi MAC features and algorithms for feature selection;
Developing tools/programs for MAC and overall data path design and verification purposes at various stages
Designing the programming model for the data path, encompassing host/Wi-Fi driver, MAC, MAC/PHY interface and cross-layer features (e.g. beamforming, MU-MIMO). You will need to understand and determine the best approach to divide the SW/FW/HW boundaries to ensure flexibility, post-silicon extensibility, debug-ability, high performance, low power consumption and small memory/footprint;
Developing 802.11 FW/SW;
Playing a key role in various stages of chipset productization, ranging from future Wi-Fi standardization/eco-system build, system performance evaluation, silicon design, pre/post-silicon verification, bringup, and solution release.
Experience

Must have:
Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages. Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
In-depth knowledge of 802.11 MAC/PHY protocols, including 802.11b/a/n/ac/ax/be
Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset.
Nice to have:
Experience with network simulation tools like ns-3
Background in real-time/embedded system design and programming.
Previous experience in the development and bring up of Wi-Fi chipsets.
Experience of MAC/PHY interface and cross-layer design.
Familiarity with FW/HW co-design, simulation, and verification.
Knowledge of 802.11 stack in host platforms (Linux, Android, Windows).
