Overview:

The Manager Human Resources Business Partner role is a key partner to BISSELLs business leaders, supporting salaried client functional groups. As a trusted ally to leaders and all Associates, you will help to execute, implement, and support Associate Experience initiatives and strategies. These projects will focus on providing a more simple and impactful experience in engaging with the HR Team. This role will consistently be looking toward continuous improvement in the spaces of performance management, leadership and professional development, and associate relations. This role will establish an essential working relationship with Sr. leadership of specific business units. This position will facilitate succession planning, aid with workforce planning, talent management of performance and recognition to support the business outcomes of the business unit. The role will provide end-to-end support from administrative to business partnering to trusted ally, building a highly engaged relationship and valuable set of services.

Responsibilities:
  • An enthusiastic team player with an innate ability to work cross functionally at all levels and possess a strong drive to create a positive team environment.
  • Act as first point of contact in HR for assigned salaried groups at headquarters, proactively offering support and guidance on policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with HR COEs as a business owner and stakeholder in HR systems, supporting requirements gathering and testing as needed.
  • Provide senior leadership with meaningful insights and calls to action upon HR data review.
  • Partner closely with leaders on associate relations matters, performance management, or potential disciplinary action.
  • Support and coach client managers on performance management, conflict resolution, progressive discipline, policy guidelines, and other employee relations matters. Guide and support assigned leaders through BISSELLs performance management process, including guidance on performance improvement plans, individual development plans, and terminations.
  • Own the termination process for salaried associates, including exit interviews, collection of equipment, system requirements, and termination metrics.
  • Be a key member of the job description review process for assigned client groups, partnering with business leaders and the compensation team to ensure adherence to the process.
  • Be a driver to support to people leaders on completing compliance-based activities such as 45/90 day reviews, and quarterly and year end performance evaluations
  • Stay current on HR compliance and local, state and federal laws, as well as trends with organizational policy and associate experience.
  • Support yearly handbook and policy updates, ensuring reconciliation to any relevant changes in state or federal law throughout the year.
  • Support the other HRBPs and act as a backup in supporting defined other business units.
  • Complete other HR-related projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Experience / Education

Degree minimum: Bachelors Degree

Specific concentration: Business Administration, Management, or Human Resources preferred.

Experience level: 7+ years of successful experience in a Human Resources Generalist or Business Partner role and successful demonstration of skills and knowledge as presented above.

  • Proven experience working effectively in a hybrid environment. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective and impactful business partnerships with those who may not be sitting in the same location.
  • Has preferably supported business lines inclusive of Sales, Marketing, Finance, IT, and/or Legal in a corporate setting.
  • Has at least 1 2 years of people management experience.
  • Proven experience as a business partner counseling executive-level leadership on matters such as Talent Assessment, Succession Planning, Workfoce Planning, and Performance Management.

Skills Required:

  • Can analyze and identify calls to action in critical HR data sets and reporting.
  • Strong organization, planning, and time management.
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and prioritize work effectively and efficiently.
  • Must be able to manage and maintain work independently, with an understanding on when to inform up.
  • Past facilitation of performance management, succession planning and management mentoring tools and conversations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to execute within a global and matrixed organization effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to exercise discretion when handling confidential information.
