Description

This position is responsible for interfacing with our sales team and suppliers to determine polyethylene/PCR supply, needs, current and future direction, while keeping apprised of trends and sourcing to ensure quality and availability of material.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop new PCR and PE suppliers.
  • Gather, compile, analyze, report, and make recommendations on alternate PE sources, pricing, volume, product/account mix, cost, logistics, rail car fleet utilization, competitive benchmarking, inventory, and profitability.
  • Analyze, plan and facilitate multiple processes with critical impact on profitability and availability, including cost, price, inventory, volume, demand, production, capacity, product/account mix, and other related factors.
  • Work with Sales to review target, customer requirement, cost, capacity, and logistics, etc., and monitor to maintain optimal inventory level
  • Assure continuous supply of raw materials by reviewing supply and demand dynamics on a daily basis. Intervene and escalate issues very prudently.
  • Coordinate the investigation/resolution of customer complaints
  • Maintain effective relationships with existing suppliers.
  • Provide technical support to suppliers and customers.
  • Negotiate pricing and review contract terms and coordinate to establish customer service standards to support contracts fulfillment
  • Manage a very dynamic supply chain.
  • Assure rail and trucking needs are taken care of.
  • Act as a window between Sales, Management, Production, Technical and the customer
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned, or apparent.
Requirements

Skills and Abilities
  • Must have a deep knowledge of Polyethylene markets, including the recycle ecosystem.
  • Must have effective negotiation skills.
  • Must have extreme attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication
  • Must demonstrate ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build positive relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Attendance is an essential function of the position.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or supply chain field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have experience in a position requiring negotiation and/or contract management.
  • Must have a good knowledge of polyolefin markets.
  • Must have a good knowledge of recycle markets.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Regularly
  • Position requires up to 50% travel within their given region, must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Communicates via phone, email, video, in person.
  • Required to sit, drive and/or perform keyboard work, for prolonged periods of time.
  • Operates a computer and other office equipment such as a copy machine and printer.
  • Talk and hear to coordinate day-to-day phone and in person transactions.
Occasionally
  • Lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
