Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Chain Maker Trainee to join our team at Peerless Chain. As a Chain Maker Trainee, you will be responsible for setting up and operating oval link forming, welding, and calibrating machines to produce high-quality chain and other products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate oval link forming, welding, and calibrating machines to produce heat-treated and non-heat-treated chain and other products.
  • Makes necessary adjustments and repairs to machines as required.
  • Conduct frequent checks on chain being formed and welded to ensure high quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Record necessary information on production forms.
  • Use hand and power tools and measuring instruments in the performance of the job.
Requirements
  • Initial selection of the Operator will be made by a joint Company/Union committee.
  • Must be able to operate machine sets in their assigned work cell.
  • Abide by safety policies, operator preventative maintenance, and housekeeping practices.
  • Ensure the quality specification of the product.
  • Accurately complete process and quality documentation.
  • Perform Material Handling duties to move raw and finished goods.
  • Must be able to work in partnership with other operators in assigned work cell.
  • Reasoning ability to define problems, collect information, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Communicate respectfully with others.
  • Work with limited supervision.
