This position supports the manager in rounding on patients/families and staff, supervision of case reviews, with a focus on the after-hours and weekend social work functions.

Additionally provides leadership support to the department managers to help with onboarding and training, staff development, clinical support, mentoring, scheduling, and job shadowing for newer staff to develop social work skills and completed additional special projects as requested.

This position provides direct patient social work services as needed, including psychosocial assessment and intervention strategies. Is responsible for assisting patients and their families in understanding and learning to cope with illness and disability. Assists families in resolving complex personal and environmental difficulties which interfere with effective social functioning and acquiring maximum benefit from medical care.

Participates as a professional team member in patient care planning along with the hospital and community agency personnel. Provides education and consultation to health care professionals and the community regarding the impact of psychosocial factors. Responsible for the delivery of social work services which are available to the patient, the patients family, and other persons significant to the patient, are well organized and directed, and integrated with other units and departments of the hospital and community. This position will collaborate interdepartmentally with all divisions of the hospital including inpatient, ambulatory, and emergency departments.

Department Specific Job Details:

+ evening/swing shift, 40 hours

+ 4 (10) hr shifts

+ 12p-10:30pm

+ every other weekend

+ weekday and weekend hours

Education Requirements:

Masters: Social Work (Required)

Certification/License Requirements:

LISW - Licensed Independent Social Worker - Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board
