Position Overview:
We are seeking Medical Technologists (Med Tech) who will accurately perform and report laboratory tests in accordance with established protocols within our technical departments. The level of autonomy in testing and reporting results will be determined by education, prior experience, and demonstrated competency, tailored to each technologist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct all tests accurately and efficiently, following established policies and procedures.
  • Perform and document daily maintenance and quality control on all testing equipment and reagents.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with instruments, reagents, test results, and supplies.
  • Record results in a clear, complete, and accurate manner, utilizing computer systems effectively to generate results and communicate critical values to clients.
  • Address client inquiries and concerns with professionalism and efficiency, adhering to departmental protocols.
  • Assist in training new employees and students in relevant technical areas.
  • Comply with all corporate integrity and safety policies of CompuNet Clinical Laboratories.
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the laboratory by performing additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Medical Laboratory Science (MLT/MLS/CLS) with ASCP certification (or eligibility) or comparable credentials required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity for extended computer use.
  • Ability to perform accurate data entry and analysis in a potentially noisy environment.
  • Maintain integrity and accuracy in test performance and result reporting.
  • Ability to read small print on labels.
  • Lift and carry weights up to 20 pounds for distances up to 50 yards.
  • Lift weights up to 50 pounds from the floor to approximately five feet high.
  • Demonstrate manual dexterity for handling various specimen types and operating pipetting devices.
  • Stand for extended periods and walk short distances repeatedly.
Safety Requirements:
  • Exposure to biohazardous materials and hazardous chemicals.
  • Familiarity with and adherence to safety, ergonomic, and health policies.
  • Compliance with all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements in laboratory or biohazard areas.
  • Completion of required safety training and health evaluations in a timely manner.
