A well-established Renewable Energy Company is looking to add on a Regulatory Compliance Specialist-NERC/CIP. This role will serve as a primary liaison with regulatory and reliability entities, including FERC, NERC, regional entities (MRO, NPCC, RFC, SPP RE, TRE & WECC), Canadian authorities (AESO, IESO, MSA & NB Power), and others relevant to renewable generation assets and control centers. This position is hybrid (3 days in office) in Chicago, IL.

Regulatory Compliance Analyst NERC CIP

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a primary liaison with FERC, NERC, regional entities, and Canadian regulatory authorities.
  • Monitor and interpret market and regulatory rules on cybersecurity for the renewable generation assets.
  • Ensure compliance with FERC Orders, NERC Reliability Standards, and other requirements through research, data collection, analysis, and documentation.
  • Handle data collection and submissions for self-certifications, audits, and data requests.
  • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to ensure cybersecurity standards and configurations.
  • Administer training on critical infrastructure protection controls.
  • Prepare compliance reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Manage key performance indicators for the compliance program.
  • Conduct audits on compliance with physical and electronic access control, patch management, and security controls.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, IT, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic understanding of network configuration and protection.
  • 2+ years in the electrical industry.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, databases, and MS Visio.
