What you will do Johnson Controls has an excellent opportunity for a Business Development Manager – Controls. This is a meaningful role reporting directly to the Sales VP&GM Leader for Controls. We prefer you to be based in the US, since you working as a team with the Controls Sales Channel Leaders to attract and retain new channel partners, build brand recognition, secure orders, and achieve business objectives. You will target to have our Control Products specified by consultants and installers into their bids and projects and become channel partners. You will form and maintain long term relationships with contractors, consultants, developers, private equity firms, and end users to promote the sales of Control product. Get ready to prepare and deliver high-quality technical presentations, live product demonstrations to contractors, consultants, developers, end user and recommend viable solutions to meet and exceed their project requirements. How you will do it Do you have a passion for using in-depth technical knowledge of the controls' marketplace and products? Do you have experience facilitating sales team, controls contractors, consultants, developers and end users on design and specification? You are a hunter driven to seek and develop new channel partners? Keep reading, because this could be THE impactful positon for you. You will coordinate with Sales, R&D, Training, Product Management and Technical Support resources to ensure that proposals and feature requests include technical solutions that accurately address customer needs, in line with Johnson Controls control product strategies. A part of your job is the responsibility of acquiring new clients, attend sales exhibitions, trade shows, conduct technical training and seminars for controls contractors and consultants to improve their knowledge of our product portfolio and how it can be applied to generating new sales leads and channel partners across our different channels to market. You will develop vital design, technical and marketing tools to support clients on existing and new products and projects. In order to improve forecast accuracy, you will maintain record of target opportunities, channel partners, clients, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in company CRM database. We need someone self-motivated that enjoys the challenge of working independently to drive territory growth Being naturally perseverant, tenacious and consistent in your approach to work, leading multiple priorities simultaneously because of your excellent planning, organization and time management skills, are all great qualities to be successful in this role. What we look for Required Accomplished strategic seller with a minimum of ten years of sales experience in HVAC/BAS market or financial sales at the C-level, including three to five years of direct sales or sales management experience

Excellent initiative, and interpersonal communications skills with proven ability to influence the market at all key levels

Proven track record of having Control products specified by Consultants and Installers into their bids and projects

Ability to lead, develop strategic partnerships, and present concepts and articulate business values to consultants, developer, and key decision makers

Excellent leadership skills vital to operate at CxOs level – selling and delivering multi-solution portfolio engagements

Preferred Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related discipline required. MBA preferred

Ability to travel 50%

Experienced in using Salesforce.com

Business/financial management expertise

Proven sales and/or client relationship management experience

Extensive understanding of the energy efficiency, building infrastructure, and services industry

Proficient in generating new business by using existing and potential customer networks

Ability to work with cross functional teams to achieve customer objectives
