Position Summary

McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for a Transportation Engineer II to join our Transportation Department. Projects may include roadway improvements, intersection design, ADA design, bicycle facility design, site improvements, transit facilities, as well as field visits and inspections. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking an individual who can handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and work well in hybrid remote office environment. Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required.

Responsibilities
  • Work under direction of project managers and support design efforts
  • Capable of working effectively in both the office and the field
  • Able to calculate basic engineering calculations and quantities
  • Ability to develop design solutions on a variety of roadway and transportation design projects, geometric design, including conceptual, preliminary, right of way, and final construction documents
  • Able to direct entry-level staff and technicians
  • Assist with scheduling and estimating
  • Familiarity with constructability principles, specification writing and cost estimating
  • Perform horizontal and vertical alignment designs
  • Knowledge of roadway design elements, standards and constructability methods
  • Ability to work independently on engineering assignments
Job Requirements

Qualifications
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in the design of highway/roadway, civil engineering and transportation
  • BS in Civil Engineering, MS is a plus
  • PE Certification required
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation and OpenRoads are a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
