Position Summary

The incumbent manages all aspects of the branch operations. This position is accountable for the financial performance, profitability, retail administration, daily operation, and retail sales management of the Branch as well as customer satisfaction; this position also ensures adherence to all Bank policies, objectives, and practices, coordination of all operations as well as supervision of personnel.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the retail employees of the Branch to include hiring recommendations and decision, scheduling, coaching, performance appraisals, salary, and promotion recommendations.
  • Performs business development, including outside calls (both existing customers and new prospects).
  • Manages the lobby operations expenses of the Branch.
  • Manages the operations of the teller line.
  • Ensures the operating efficiency banking branch and works with maintenance to report issues and needs.
  • Approves deposits within defined authorities set by a published and approved Authority Matrix.
  • Represents the Branch in community activities as available.
  • Contributes to the fulfillment of branch and company objectives and goals; works with Supervisors to increase deposit volumes.
  • Authority to sign Official checks within approved limits set in the Authority Matrix.
  • Assist customers with various service duties including opening New Accounts, Safe Deposit Box, and all other customer-oriented services.
  • Actively cross-sells products and services to fully meet the financial needs of the customers as well as strengthen their relationship with the Bank.
  • Fill in for any position in the lobby in case of staff absence or if they need assistance.
  • Will assist in training new employees and answer co-worker questions.
  • Refers unusual or suspicious activities or transactions to the BSA officer immediately.
  • Follow CIP and Know Your Customer guidelines in identifying customers.
  • Complies with all department and bank policies and procedures and maintains compliance with State and Federal Banking Regulations.
  • Understands and agrees to abide by the policies and procedures established by Susser Bank.
  • Performs duties in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintains the security and confidentiality of pertinent information and records.
  • Maintains current and up-to-date knowledge and training and continues professional development through training as applicable.
  • Demonstrates a courteous, pleasant, self-motivated, and dependable behavior. Maintaining a professional environment in both appearance and conduct.
  • Performs as a team member, and completes any other job-related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required
  • College degree in business, accounting or finance, or equivalent educational experience is preferred.
  • Two years of Branch Manager or acting Branch Manager experience required.
Skills and Abilities Required
  • Strong customer service and people management and delegation skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; able to prioritize effectively.
  • Must have a strong attention to details, organized and accurate and be able to exercise good judgment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate on all levels.
