Position Summary: The Accountant maintains financial records and reports, performs account reconciliations, assists with budget and close processes, conducts internal audits, and maintains accounts payable documentation. The Accountant will assist the Controller and Assistant Controller as needed and respond to information requests by management and for auditing purposes. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day general ledger and accounting functions. Assist with month end closing processes, maintain the general ledger, generate monthly journal entries. The process must be completed timely and at a high level of accuracy and complying with GAAP requirements. Prepare monthly account reconciliations and research any discrepancies. Reconcile and confirm inter-company transaction balances on a monthly basis and post adjustments as necessary. Review and approve positive pay electronic file transmissions. Review and post payroll runs and related tax filings. Manage fixed assets including capitalizations, disposals, monthly depreciation, and researching appropriate accounting treatment of complex transactions related to fixed assets. Prepare and file taxes and external reporting including but not limited to L&I reporting, B&O taxes, 1099 reporting, property taxes, and census reports. Adhere to all SOX requirements to ensure full SOX compliance. Ensure proper internal SOX testing is completed accurately and timely. Provide audit support through the generation of timely, accurate schedules and documents.
