**Sales Manager I, Trainee**

Northern Region

Summary

The Sales Trainee will work with the current sales and Appleton team in order to learn about the essential operations of the Voith Paper Product and Services business. The trainee will be given assignments to complete with deadlines and work with various team members and customers in order to receive the most comprehensive understanding of the job possible. At the end of the training program (approx. 8 12 months) the expectation is the trainee will move into a Regional Sales Manager role in the North Region for Voith Paper Product and Services Division.

Responsibilities

* Travel with Regional Sales Managers in order to learn about the sales process and customers operation and needs.

* Collaborate with team members during customer service visits, outage jobs/work, and equipment start-ups at customer mill site.

* Spend time with Application Engineering team to gain product knowledge and build relationships with team members.

* Observe the sales process by assisting Regional Sales Manager in acquiring new business and maintaining / servicing existing customer accounts.

* Assist and build relationships with customers by visiting customer locations routinely and providing them with product information and product/service quotes.

* Provide additional administrative and service support to Regional Sales Managers and Applications Engineering team as needed.

* Attend sales conferences and internal meetings as required.

* Complete the training program by learning about sales administration process, essential sales functions, responsibilities for Regional Sales Managers, Voith values and culture, key business drivers, and customer operations and expectations.

Qualifications

* Bachelors Degree in business, operations, engineering or completed trade school discipline.

* Ability to travel up to 80% of time on a weekly basis.

* 1-3 years of experience working as a supplier a to paper mills or as an employee at a paper mill.

* Job may require some weekend or holiday work and or travel.

* Ability to work under pressure, follow-up on critical items and meet deadlines

* Understanding of basic business and operations/maintenance practices.

* Exceptional communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

* Must be comfortable working with hands, tools and entering equipment during customer service support visits.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. At times, some lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching and balancing is necessary.
