Software Engineer II

As an Engineer II, you will be an individual contributor in the creation and development of the Fraud Prevention services which play a key role in the Starbucks Fraud Prevention strategy. The ideal candidate will work closely with peer engineers and domain teams to develop highly performant APIs which need to handle Starbucks transaction volumes. You will get to work with the latest cloud services as well as container and orchestration technologies.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop robust APIs and schemas using REST that will support client functionality.
  • Participate in requirements gathering and functional specification activities.
  • Design, develop, implement, document, and test APIs.
  • Participate in engineering reviews with your team to ensure software development standards are met.
  • Collaborate with team members to recommend new software development technologies and development processes.
  • Resolve, mitigate, and perform root cause analysis on production issues. Contribute to production support documentation.

Qualifications :
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering and data engineering
  • 2+ years of professional development experience with .Net/C#.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud including PaaS and IaaS services or equivalent in Azure: Lambda, DynamoDB, AWS Security, and etc.
  • Experience with object-oriented design and development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong ability to drive engineering trade-off discussions with the goal of driving consensus.
  • Experience delivering software using Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
