KNFE team within Amazon books engaged on thinking and building features for Kindle which will make reading a delightful and differentiated experiences.
We are responsible for the backend miro-service architecture, the Machine Learning algorithms that powers these features as well as the seamless CX on iOS, Android and Kindle Ereader.
In 2024 we have an exciting roadmap and will do significant work on adding new supplementary content to augment the book reading experience.
While we work on managing exist tech-stack, we are working on building new LLM based models, developing new ML pipelines into production and revamping the customer experience.
Key job responsibilitiesAs a Software Dev Engineer II, you will be
- Solve difficult engineering problems with elegant and practical code.
- Design and build software for mobile, front end clients and server systems.
- Closely working with Product managers in scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
- Help define engineering best practices and providing technical mentorship to other members of the engineering team.
- Be a champion for the customer and ensuring their needs always come first.
- Mentor junior engineer and provide technical guidance to your peers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of noninternship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge in one of the following: Android SDK, Compose, SWIFT, React Native, C++, ObjectC, Kotlin
