We are hiring a Retention Specialist based in Jamaica, Queens, New York The Retention Specialist is essential for ensuring our participants' successful employment outcomes within the New York We Care program. This position involves following up with employers to verify job placements and matching clients with new services and opportunities.

Preferred candidates will be bilingual in Spanish and possess the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with clients.

This position offers the potential for a hybrid schedule, with up to 2 remote works days, as available. Performance metrics must be consistently met to qualify for remote working days.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Present, train, and coach program participants on employment skills, resume writing, interview preparation, career exploration, life and soft skills, communication skills, etc.

- Prepare materials for training sessions and present training programs in a clear and concise manner.

- May select or develop teaching aids such as handbooks, models, visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference materials to support curriculum design.

- Track attendance in training sessions and notify appropriate staff of non-attendance when applicable.

- Make logistical arrangements for training sessions, including training facilities, course materials and audio-visual equipment.

- Assist in writing and evaluation of training aides.

- Continually monitor and assess participant progress throughout the learning process and adjust as needed to ensure knowledge transfer and applied understanding.

- Perform other duties as may be assigned by leadership.

- Conduct employment verifications to verify continued participant success.
- Advise participants of employment opportunities that align with their skills and experience.

Minimum Requirements

- High school diploma or GED required and 0-2 years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.

Pay Transparency

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
