Your Role at Walker

Walker Consultants is seeking an organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join the Corporate Accounting team in our Portage, MI office. The ability to be a self-starter, handle multiple tasks, effective communicator, and meet firm deadlines is key for this position.

The primary accounting support responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Process accounts payable invoices Process employee expense reports Manage office leases with Lease Accounting software Setup vendors to pay with ACH Utilize accounting software to generate reporting as requested File Business Licenses & Registrations Perform special projects as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance or similar with 1-3 years of applicable work experience Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Deltek Vantagepoint experience is a big plus Advanced computer skills required to learn and utilize accounting/project management software Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and stay organized with multiple projects and tasks
