CONTINGENT UPON AWARD
The Personnel Security Specialist (PSS) shall provide support by tracking Personnel Security actions for approximately 6,000 DAF military personnel per month as they proceed through the accessions process and training pipeline. The Personnel Security Specialist shall provide related administrative support to the Sensitive Skills Branch 2nd Air Force Technical Training Operations Center, Detachment 1 (2 AF/TTOC, Det1) at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Lackland, Texas.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- The Personnel Security Specialist (PSS) shall provide professional, articulate, and adequate administrative services to ensure tracking and processing of security issues throughout the accessions/training pipeline until a person arrives at the first duty station.
- The PSS shall review Personnel Security databases to track any requests for information and customer service requests (CSRs).
- The PSS shall access systems for tracking security clearances and respond to queries from other DoD Agencies. The queries will require coordinating with training unit commanders, as well as the DoD CAS, Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), and the Defense Insider Threat Management Analysis Center (DITMAC).
- The PSS will ensure each accession is assigned to the Security Management Office (SMO) in DISS. The PSS will monitor Air Force Recruiting Information Support System-Total Force (AFRISS-TF) web-based system for accession activities and take actions in DISS to ensure accessions are gained into the appropriate SMO. The PSS shall validate data in personnel security databases for accuracy and run reports in DISS to ensure all accessions are assigned.
- The PSS will process Continuous Vetting (CV) notifications. When requests for information or insider threat notifications are received, the PSS will coordinate with the current training unit to notify the subject and obtain required documentation within the 48-hour notification window.
- The PSS will ensure documents are formatted per the respective agencies' requirements and will transmit the information to the requesting agency and assist with the evaluation of favorable and derogatory information.
- When training units, the PSS will process/report security incidents, obtain the required documentation, ensure it is formatted as required, and upload information in DISS.
- The Personnel Security Specialist shall prepare weekly separation rosters and obtain lists of separated personnel and check investigation statuses in DISS.
- The PSS will request investigation cancellations with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and submit separation rosters to AETC/IP and AFRS.
- The PSS shall out-process accessions in DISS and track 2 AF SharePoint dashboards for accessions' progress through training. Upon all training completion, the PSS will out-process or transfer accessions to the SMO at the permanent duty station in DISS.
- The PSS will provide weekly statistics on number of CV notifications, requests for information, CSRs, and DISS processing actions as requested by higher headquarters and provide ad-hoc statistical report when requested by higher headquarters.
- The PSS shall provide lessons learned reports. At the end of the initial performance period, the PSS will submit the report, identifying processes used and lessons learned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to multi-task, pay close attention to detail, stay alert and focused, and coordinate and manage electronic security equipment.
- Possess excellent organizational and file management skills and the ability to plan and execute administrative work with little supervision.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High School Diploma
- Three (3) to five (5) years of current relevant Security Specialist experience.
- Must have completed training courses specializing in personnel security provided by the Center for development of Security Excellence (CDSE).
- The Personnel Security Specialist shall have at least a final U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance.
- The PSS shall complete online computer-based orientation and on-the-job orientation as provided by the Government within two (2) months of contract award.
