Job Description
Cox Consulting Network has been exclusively retained by a profitable, rapidly growing, healthcare company in its search for a Senior Accountant responsible for the company's inventory and costing. The company is ready to make this hire, so apply today The position is hybrid and based in Houston, TX near The Heights.

OPPORTUNITY

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for process improvement, cost analysis & reporting and product costing and will report to the Senior Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a self-starter and has inventory accounting experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements, working cross-functionally to implement changes.
  • Streamline cost accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Investigate and explain variances between actual and standard costs, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of manufacturing costs, identifying variances and providing insights to senior management.
  • Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial goals.
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand cost drivers and implement cost control measures.
  • Develop and maintain accurate standard costs for top products, considering materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Evaluate and update cost structures based on changes in production processes or market conditions.
  • Update BOMs and standard cost.
  • Report cost of raw materials and labor
  • Coordinate with others to resolve discrepancies between inventory, COGS, and accounts payable.
  • Manage all inventory so GL accounts tie to perpetual and physical quantities.
  • Assist with all elements of the financial close process to ensure a timely close including, preparation of month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
  • Ideal 4+ years of experience in cost accounting or corporate/public accounting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, and meet multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment with little to no supervision.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
