Our client in Houston, TX has an immediate need for a Senior Accountant on a minimum 5- 6 month contract basis. Company Profile: Manufacturing Company In business since the 1970's Small family office Senior Accountant Role: The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely standalone and consolidated financial statements, and supporting the completion of external audits and periodic reviews. Support external audits and periodic reviews. Deliver financial reports and variance analysis to management. Execute monthly consolidation/elimination entries for consolidated financial statements. Ensure financial statements reflect the financial position and operating results of the organization Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and disclosure forms. Responsible for timely filings with Texas Comptroller, Federal Payroll Taxes, Texas Workforce Commission, Dept. of Labor, and other regulator agencies. Conduct account reviews/reconciliations and monthly journal entries. Coordinate system reviews, specifications, and software process solutions. Address accounting and business issues, implementing new accounting pronouncements. Monitor internal controls and adherence to delegation of authority guidelines. Review processes for best practices and automation initiatives. Analyze and prepare journal entries for derivative transactions. Assisting with clean-up Bookkeeping Assist with other tasks as directed by Management. Senior Accountant Background Profile: Minimum 3 years of experience, including busy season or similar corporate accounting experience. Experience with Finance & Accounting ERP system implementation/enhancement preferred. IFRS Accounting and Derivative Accounting is preferred Self-starter with strong interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving abilities. Public accounting experience and CPA or CMA certification is desirable but not required.
