This position will include vendor selection, conceptual design of tooling, selection of hot runner system, project management of tooling fabrication, and implementation of tooling into the manufacturing processes.Under general direction, this individual can expect to be responsible for or involved in the following:Guide all efforts pertaining to the design, sourcing, maintenance and repair of injection molds within established mold build standards.Coordination of all tooling RFQ'sLead the design review effort on sourced tooling before mold build kick off.Capable of estimating tooling expense pertaining to new or reworked effortsCapable of guiding the design of tooling in the interest of the product and manufacturing requirements.Serve as a technical resource internallyExperience with plastic injection molding and processingExperience with Solid WorksContinuous improvement on existing toolingManage the tooling supplier baseCapable of sample evaluations (dimensional, cosmetic) and coordinating tooling rework to correct non-conformance'sProject/Program coordination - customer, supplier, vendor, employee interface as needed outside of tooling engineer responsibilities.Support the Tooling Maintenance department as neededMonitor construction of injection molds.Monitor project schedules with tooling suppliers and ensure that projects are completed on time and per design requirementsAbility to live Ultradent's core values of care, integrity, hard work, innovation and quality.Support in other aspects of the tooling department where experience and desire exude.What we're looking for in you:BS Degree in Engineering, Plastics or related Technical Degree is idealHands on experience in the fabrication of plastic injection mold toolingExperience in the engineering roleExperience working within the molding industry or specific to mold tooling.Ultradent is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
