Senior Tools Engineer - BigBox Responsibilities:

  1. Create software and pipelines within a highly dynamic and iterative team environment

  2. Design, develop, test, and maintain quality code and documentation

  3. Work as part of a team, contributing to important design decisions that get implemented into code and services that support the entire studio content pipeline

  4. Develop prototypes and experiments, while researching and recommending novel ideas, new tools, and technologies

  5. Build, maintain, and support internal tools designed to empower content creators

  6. Work with large data sets and distribution pipelines that span multiple cloud solutions, services, and networks

  7. Develop tools and interfaces that are clean, simple, and powerful

  8. Proactively collaborate with artists and engineers to implement new processes, features, to solve content pipeline and scale problems

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. At least 5 years of experience working on a game team

  2. At least 5 years of working in Unity or equivalent experience with other modern game engines

  3. Experience completing a ship cycle for a product

  4. Experience architecting and working within content pipelines to handle: Character rigging, Art and Animation pipelines, Environment art pipelines

  5. Proven communication skills working with a cross-functional team

  6. Self directed engineer who actively finds ways to make artist and engineer work more cohesively

  7. Aptitude with working with other disciplines with understanding of art workflow

  8. Experienced scripting skills in Maya/Blender

  9. Experienced developing tooling and processes that leverage source control and continuous deployment workflows

  10. Demonstrated experience planning, executing, and evaluating complex projects where analysis of situations and decision making requires an evaluation of unclear or ambiguous factors

  11. Demonstrated history of making work happen with speed and simplicity by focusing on: Ensuring upfront alignment on priorities, roles, responsibilities, and decision making criteria. Identifying potential roadblocks early and develops plans to mitigate risks. Simplified iterations and reviews needed. Makes decisions that maximize impact while minimizing cost (people, time, resources).

  12. Experience identifying important problems and exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

  13. Bachelor in Computer Science or equivalent experience
