Fairgrounds’ new medical director is MAJ (Ret) Renee Krebs, who joined the team in April 2022. Dr. Krebs has already effected positive change at our hospital and is known for going the extra mile, investing 110%, teaching and mentoring our growing team with empathy and building relationships with the pets and pet parents of the growing Fairgrounds Animal Hospital family. A little bit about her: She earned her DVM at Washington State University and completed a surgery residency at North Carolina State University Dr. Krebs began her veterinary career as an Animal Care Specialist in the Army. She served 23 years on active duty in diverse positions such as Deputy Director and Veterinary Surgeon at Veterinary Medical Center Europe in Germany, and the dual-hatted Chief of Clinical Operations and Clinical Medicine Specialist/Surgeon in a deployable unit—the 248th Medical Detachment (Veterinary Service Support) at Ft Bragg, NC During her service, Dr. Krebs cared for hundreds of military working dogs and thousands of pets owned by service members and retirees She mentored, trained, and developed more than 100 new veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and food inspection specialists, striving to have a positive impact on the lives of those around her Imagine life in Nevada:
