Intelligent Power Management System (IPMS) Team

within the Manufacturing Organization located in

El Dorado Hills, CA . The IMPS team supports electronic testing and repair operations for multiple programs for both DoD and foreign military customers. The IPMS team is seeking a mechanical engineer to assist in the R&D, development, and deployment of Range Extenders in relation to EV (Electric Vehicles) for the U.S. Army and DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency). The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high visibility environment; work well in a team environment; and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. This team member will have a lead Engineer to support training and development. Role Responsibilities: Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling Develop process documentation for new and existing systems’ Bonding, Mechanical Fabrication, Coating, and Additive Manufacturing Work with the chief engineer to develop repair procedures Evaluate incoming production for feasibility and process definition Define fabrication process based on component features, materials and dimensions Create and maintain work instructions Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance Assist with the maintenance of the environmental test equipment Work with the Industrial Engineering group to support routing development and other IE activities Support ongoing expansion of IPMS; multiple moves and build outs, provide an interface to facilities Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout Providing supplier support, as needed, to resolve issues within supply base This position may be filled as a
