Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards within the organization.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Performing or ensuring validation and verification activities as directed by Food Safety and HACCP Plans and Safety Quality Food (SQF) programs.
  • Conducting regular GMP inspections and other food safety and quality inspections, documenting findings, and coordinating with production staff to implement corrective actions.
  • Assisting in maintaining documentation of customer complaints, conducting investigations, and implementing appropriate resolutions.
  • Monitoring and verifying the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) through swabbing procedures.
  • Managing pest control activities and conducting follow-ups, as necessary.
  • Maintaining, calibrating, and verifying facility equipment used for monitoring compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Participating in and supporting internal audits to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Conducting allergen, Critical Control Point (CCP), and cleaning validations according to schedule or as required.
  • Helping during regulatory audits, government inspections, 3rd party inspections, corporate audits, and customer visits.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned or required by business needs.
Qualifications/Skills required:
  • Computer Skills - Must be able to use Microsoft Office, operate inventory software
  • Education - degree in Food Science or a Technical field or have equivalent field experience.
  • 1-2 years CAPA work experience in manufacturing plant environment preferred.
  • 2-4 years Quality Assurance experience, preferably in the food industry or dietary supplements.
  • 1-2 years' experience in regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations preferred.
  • Able to apply strategic and quality logic and project management skills to investigation activities ensuring appropriate investigations are conducted.
  • Good project management skills to deliver an effective service in a timely manner.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of work that forms part of the Quality System Documentation.
  • Good written and oral communication skills to ensure effective and report generation and effective communication with all levels of the organization.
  • Enjoys working and thrives in a team environment.
