for our

Corporate Office in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Position Summary: Responsible for assisting the Vice President of Quality with the customer interface and escalation from plants through the Corporate Quality Managers, improvement of the quality systems, APQP and training of plant quality departments, support in problem solving, warranty analysis and supplier development. Through input from customers, the corporate quality staff, and manufacturing facilities, the Director of Corporate Quality will access the needs of the manufacturing facilities and recommend policies and systems for continual improvement. The position will support all customers, oversee the Corporate Quality Managers and requires extensive travel.

Essential Job Functions: Monitoring customer portals, internal quality performance and customer warranty performance. Supporting compliance to ISO/ IATF 16949 requirements. Reviewing Quality Systems and documents. Working with the manufacturing facilities to support standardizing and improving systems. Conducting IATF audits of the quality system at the corporate offices and manufacturing facilities. Representing the Company with customer and industry personnel by visiting customers and attending industry conferences. Reviewing and administering adherence to advanced quality planning activities, elements, and schedules via internal audits and Product Realization gate reviews. Assist, and lead if necessary, the manufacturing facilities and suppliers with problem solving. Train in problem solving and continuous improvement techniques. Work with suppliers on problem solving, supplier development and conduct supplier audits and surveys. Reviewing quality action plans internally and with suppliers for timely completion and effectiveness. Review and establishing quality-related training programs as required. Evaluate, recommend, and roll-out software for process improvements. Responsible for ensuring that customer requirements are met. Supervise and develop the Corporate Quality Managers. Lead the weekly NA Quality meeting for all corporate and manufacturing facilities ensuring customer responsiveness and report outs as required in a timely manner. Work collaboratively with the customer while protecting Company's interests.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with strong preference in mechanical or manufacturing engineering area or equivalent experience with proven background in quality in the automotive industry. Previous experience supervising and developing remote employees. Working knowledge of the automotive industry, customer specifications, customer web sites and requirements and training or knowledge of ISO/ IATF 16949 requirements. Must have experience with OEM quality processes, customer specific requirements and customer portals. Certified IATF 16949 lead auditor or ability to gain. Ability to travel up to 80%.
