The Director of Quality is a corporate position as part of our Corporate HQ's team in Southfield, MI.

Reporting to our Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the individual will be relied upon to build strong relationships in all (10) of our US Plants with the responsibility for supervising the Quality functions of a company.

The duties include analyzing the existing processes and gaps to implement process improvements within the plants, mentoring, and teaching other team members.

The leader in this space will work collaboratively with our manufacturing organization, plant Engineering leaders, Quality leaders and Operations leaders.

A deep understanding and knowledge of both the current manufacturing systems landscape and systems Quality is required, along with a passion for people and the manufacturing floor.

This person will lead the design of our roadmaps that will expand our proven capabilities and incorporate advanced technologies, enabling Grede 'IT for Industry 4.0' vision of a highly connected, operationally intelligent manufacturing enterprise.

What you'll do:


Partner with key team members in Engineering, IT, Manufacturing, and Quality to solve the manufacturing facilities' toughest problems; providing end-to-end Quality support to ensure value is delivered and sustained.

Advise and influence leadership and operations on technical solutions, standard integration methodologies, and business and technology alignment.
Aid plants in the development of improved QMS documentation (PFMEA, Control Plans, Process

flows, etc.)
Mentor and review IATF 16949 systems in plants.
Develop knowledge share methods of best practices between plants and corporate.
Review of plant corrective actions/8Ds on key issues for strong prevent recurrence.
Measure and track plant and corporate wide results on various projects (GSS, GMS, etc.)
Work with training and mentoring the Grede Project System (GPS) process correlation to Quality.
Customer support in key quality concerns or aspects of the business.
Understand technology requirements to help achieve our corporate visions in Operation systems (sand, melt, mold).

Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to enable competitive advantage through the definition and implementation of systems and technology components.

Support plant expansion projects addressing our growth strategy.

Promote learning in others by building relationships with cross-functional partners; listening and responding to, seeking, and addressing performance feedback; adapting to competing demands and new responsibilities; creating and executing plans to capitalize on strengths and improve opportunity areas; and adapting to and learning from change, opportunities for improvement and feedback from stakeholders.

What We Need from You:
10+ years of experience leading Quality teams and strategic projects, in a manufacturing environment, or similar.
Leadership experience in IATF 16949 implementation and usage in a manufacturing environment.
Leadership experience in QMS documentation.
Leadership experience in presenting with customers.
Knowledge of Industry 4.0, IoT, and IT/OT.
Leadership experience in use of new technologies in Manufacturing facilities.

Ability to operate and communicate at a strategic level yet focus on details to drive successful execution and deliver value.

Ability to decompose problems and opportunities when they may not be clearly defined.
Strong facilitation skills lending to effectively guiding the business to identify needs and evaluating alternative solutions as required.
