The Compliance Specialist I is a member of the Legal Compliance team responsible for following defined procedures associated to the following areas: testing technical changes associated to implementation projects, auditing files based on recently changed procedures and technology, and researching high risk items. This role involves working with our Operations, Secondary, Sales, and Risk teams to help Identify and mitigate risk. The Compliance Specialist I is an integral part of the Compliance Management System (CMS) as they serve to execute and assist in the execution of our compliance programs controls.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
  • Testing new technology deploys such as new functionality or document/disclosure changes
  • Escalate issues to leadership with potential solutions
  • Research current and previous functionality on compliance controls to ensure accurate deploys and testing
  • Able to research state, federal, and investor regulations to ensure compliance
  • Working with the Implementation Team to troubleshoot technical issues and test implementations


WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

Must Have Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year Mortgage experience is required
  • Communicates effectively verbally, non-verbally, and possesses strong technical skills
  • Demonstrated advanced use of MS Office software features and techniques
  • This position requires on-site attendance at our headquarters in Pontiac, MI.

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience preferred
