Under the general direction of the Plant Sr Quality Manager, the Quality Engineering VSM will manage the quality engineering team supporting the operations value stream to make sure that all products and processes align with standards (i.e. Engineering specifications, customer requirements, governing policies). They will be responsible for quality business metrics within their responsible value stream such as but not limited to COPQ, FPY, CEPPM, SPPM.

As part of this role, the QE VSM will supervise a medium sized team of engineers and technicians to achieve the quality goals/ objectives set forth by plant leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and develops the quality engineers and technicians through involvement, delegation, and regular performance reviews (Operational Quality, Supplier Quality, New Product Quality, Customer Quality) Supports the QSM in the development, maintenance, and auditing of the plant Quality systems and specific customer driven requirements. Accountable for collecting and reporting quality metrics at frequency defined by Sr Quality Manager Escalates and develops recovery plans for metrics off target with the support and oversight of the Sr QM Accountable for control plans, layered process audits, and calibration records within their value stream Accountable to maintain both plant and supplier ProCert within their value stream Accountable for development, enforcement, and robustness of end of line and incoming inspection criteria with supporting institutionalized procedures Accountable for assuring new products being introduced to the value stream launch with improved quality performance as compared to the parent product Shares responsibility of leading the weekly quality clinic meeting to drive timely and effective corrective actions based on impact to business Supports continuous improvement initiatives Supports all customer and external regulatory audits Tracks development and training skills of each of their direct reports Provides Quality leadership to the facility in the absence of the Quality Manager

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Continuous Improvement role

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Engineering or MBA is a plus Working experience of Commercial HVAC equipment operation is a plus Working experience with ISO9001 Solid positive attitude and effective communicating skills with a proven ability to forge solid business inclusive and diverse relationships Experienced with Quality core processes, Production Part Approval Process elements, Advanced Product Quality Planning, data management systems and continuous improvement tools Robust skills on data manipulation, interpretation, and analysis. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project) Must be able to work well within diverse international environments
