.

The position includes the development of dielectrics,

binder

and metal systems from formulation through firing and

optimizing

the associated properties created. The position must also be

cognizant

that Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost targets are met and improved. This position will require collaboration with the engineering team, value stream manager, and production personnel to balance priorities and meet customer demands. Ideal candidates will have

strong material

systems background and experience in creating manufacturable materials. Strong interpersonal skills are

required

to transfer technical knowledge to the manufacturing group and interface with other functions in the organization. ESSENTIAL

JOB

FUNCTIONS

: Develop ceramic formulations particularly barium titanate and magnesium titanate to create electrical grade ceramics with respect to K, temperature coefficient, insulation resistance, dielectric strength, ESR, and mechanical properties. Maintain and ensure ceramic materials and production processing integrate well for smooth production operations and product quality. Design formulation processes to produce quality ceramic formulations

utilizing

ball mills, 3-roll mills, high shear mixers, spray dryers, etc. Develop organic vehicles for formulations for dielectric and precious metals for green processing applications such as, tape casting, extrusion, and wet stacking/spray deposition. Optimize materials and processing for green processing operations as well as development of new organic systems for dielectrics and metals. Develop and maintain

firing profiles for existing dielectric systems as well as new dielectric systems. Design metal systems used in the design of electrical grade ceramics and define interactions with dielectric formulations. Participate in Continuous Improvement projects with respect to new industry processes,

equipment

and methodologies to improve margins and revenue. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: BS degree in Ceramics Engineering or Materials Engineering OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: 2+ years is desirable DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in materials manufacturing environment with exposure to modern production and material methodologies that may include Six Sigma, SPC, Kanban, 5S, Value Stream mapping, Design of Experiments, process capability, gauge R&R, hypothesis tests, SPC and other means to improve and control processes. Understanding of quality system requirements. Experience in High-Rel multi-layer ceramic capacitor industry. Ability to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels within the organization. Ability to plan, lead, direct, monitor, projects. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
