Qualifications:
**Required Experience and Skills**:
- Ph.D. or Master of Science in Materials Science or related discipline is desired, or bachelor’s degree in science or engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in materials development and manufacturing.
- Have led and worked on next generation materials science and processing in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
**Preferred Experience and Skills**:
- A thorough knowledge of carbon-based materials and composites.
- Experience in carbonization and post carbonization treatments focused on optimizing the final material’s thermal, mechanical, optical, electrical, and/or tribological properties.
- Working knowledge of material processing techniques such as mixing, sizing, pressing, thermal treatments, purification, impregnation, etc.
- In depth knowledge regarding materials characterization techniques.
- Experience with single crystal SiC growth and SiC materials is desirable.
