Civil Design Engineer

ELA Group, Inc. (ELA) is seeking a full-time Civil/Design Engineer with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience to join our team in State College, PA. While not a remote position, this in-person role offers flexibility for work/life balance within an informal office culture. As a regional branch of ELA, we are a small team of professionals that work closely together to achieve exceptional project design solutions for our clients.This role has the potential for upward mobility and offers a possible path towards management/leadership.

General responsibilities:

-Develop plans to include details and specifications suitable for submittal of permit applications (post construction stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, land development and NPDES).

-Produce designs/calculations, complete plans and permit applications and coordinate with reviewing agencies.

-Assist the project director by providing project management and engineering support throughout the proposal, design, permitting and construction phases for the development of athletic facilities.

-Perform construction administration and field observations during construction projects.

Requirements:

-Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.

-Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.

-Professional Engineering (PE) License (preferred).

-Experience/working knowledge of basic design principles for grading, calculation of slopes & grades, and site construction materials and methods.

-Training and/or work experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

-Ability to meet project and task deadlines as established by the project director.

-Strong written and verbal communication skills.

-An understanding of, and experience with, the municipal land development and NPDES permitting process.
