General Summary:

The PennDot program coordinator coordinates all aspects of Pennsylvania State Safety Certification, Pennsylvania State Emission Inspector Certification and Emission Inspector Re-Certification contracts with CCAC. This includes coordinating hands-on testing for passenger cars, motorcycles and heavy trucks and buses. This also includes working with the professional development staff at CCAC for emission re-certification training and testing.

Must have a thorough understanding of PennDot's State Safety Inspection and Emission Inspection Program, and a certified PennDot training instructor.

Job Duties: 1. Oversee all aspects of the Pennsylvania State Safety Inspection and Pennsylvania State Emission Inspection program training.

2. Create and staff all training schedules and coordinate update visits for instructors as changes arise.

3. Update all enrollment material and fliers on an ongoing basis and monitor costs associated with the courses.

4. Update all state inspection tools and keep abreast of changes in regulation regarding tools.

5. Assist in recruiting of students.

6. Schedule and deliver all tactile on-vehicle testing for heavy trucks, and assist in scheduling passenger cars and motorcycles.

7. Handle all issues that arise regarding students' licenses and records, and recommend solutions.

8. Act as a liaison between PennDot and CCAC.

9. Sign and be responsible for all paperwork submitted to the state of Pennsylvania, and/or Delphi Corporation regarding Pennsylvania State Inspection and State Emission testing.

10. Coordinate the PennDot audit of all files and procedures involving the programs.

11. Monitor all student progress due to timeline of state guidelines.

12. Respond to inquiries from prospective students and garages regarding course enrollment, licensing and regulation issues.

13. Work with CCAC professional development staff to schedule and staff non-credit emission re-certification classes and staff all off site training.

14. Personally oversee and sign the MV-409 and MV-501 state forms of each student before it is sent to PennDot.

15. Hold meetings with all instructors to ensure all information being delivered meets PA regulations, and all instructors training standards remain current.

16. Complete end of semester report.

Clearances: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
