The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of structural engineering projects, from conceptual design through construction. This position requires a strong background in structural engineering, particularly in the grain storage industry.

*Responsibilities:*
* Lead the structural design and analysis of grain handling facilities to include silos, support structures, and material handling equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
* Develop detailed structural engineering plans, specifications, and calculations for grain elevator projects.
* Conduct structural analysis to ensure the integrity and safety of designs.
* Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural designs with overall project requirements.
* Review and approve drawings, plans, and specifications prepared by junior staff or external consultants.
* Perform site visits and inspections to assess existing structures and mechanical systems and provide recommendations for repair, renovation, or maintenance.
* Assist in the preparation of project proposals, estimates, and budgets.
* Communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities as needed to address technical issues and ensure project success.
* Stay informed about industry trends, new materials, and construction techniques to continually improve design practices.

*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering, or a related field.
* Structural Engineer (SE) license desired.
* Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, with a focus on grain elevator design, construction, or bulk material handling.
* Strong understanding of industry standards and codes, including ACI, ASCE, AISC, and relevant OSHA regulations.
* Excellent leadership and project management skills.
* Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
* Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit is a plus.
* Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and client meetings approximately 25-30%

*Special Demands:*
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
* Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, kneel, and ben
* Exposure to moderate to loud noise within the work environment.
* Exposure to heavy concentrations of grain dust.
* Ability to frequently move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
* Ability to frequently wear personal protective equipment correctly, including respirators, fall protection, safety glasses, hard hat, etc.
* Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
* Ability to comfortably work at heights of approximately 200 ft.
* Ability to work in outdoor work environment, including various climates, weather conditions, and inclement weather, approximately 80% of the time.
* Ability to perform all job responsibilities with necessary special demands for up to 8 hours per day.
