Description: The Director of Operations is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of all flight operations. The incumbent shall ensure that the organization meets all applicable FAA regulatory requirements. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Must hold current Learjet 35/55 type rating with availability for a minimum of 7 flights per month; training captain; check pilot. Must conduct himself in a professional, responsible, and ethical manner while performing the duties of the Director of Operations or representing the company Ensures that the Flight Operations department follows the 14 CFRs, Operations Specifications and the General Operations Manual Actively contributes to the safety culture of the organization, participating in required meetings and closure of assigned tasks Leads the Flight Operations team and manages their flight schedules and duty rest Communicates with the appropriate FAA FSDO on regulatory issues Provides the support equipment to safely and efficiently accomplish flight. Responsible for flight operational control Generates and updates Operations Specifications with the Administrator, and distributes them to the appropriate personnel Responsible for the development and revision of the General Operations Manual and any other flight-related procedures Coordinates with the Director of Maintenance for the development and revision of aircraft MEL Establishes pilot manning requirements to operate company aircraft to the highest degree of safety based on present and anticipated operations Responsible for the information required by the Pilot Records Improvement Act (PRIA) and Pilot Record Database (PRD) Responsible for Company record keeping as required by 14 CFR 135.63 Responsible for filing of and following-up on reports regarding accidents or incidents Designates Check Pilots and ensures that all pilots maintain current flight proficiency checks as required by FAA Regulations and Company Policies Responsible for the EFB program and the electronic dissemination of company publications SMS – manual, procedure, policy, and implementation. Electronic record keeping – procedure, policy, and implementation. Conducts performance appraisals, personnel interviews, hires and discharges flight personnel with the assistance of the Chief Pilot. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: To qualify as a candidate for Director of Operations, the following criteria must be met: • Must meet 14 CFR Part 119 requirements • Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of aviation operation management -Ability to make oneself available based on operational needs. -Must have good leadership and communication skills.
